Communicating food poverty – understanding the current discourse on the island of Ireland

Abstract:

This research project will be carried out by the University of Galway. The primary research question informing this study is: How is food poverty discursively constructed by the print and broadcast media on the island of Ireland and how is this issue perceived and understood by key stakeholders and the public? The overall aim of the research is to investigate the discursive construction of food poverty in the media and to explore public, policy and key stakeholder perceptions of food poverty.
