Strawberry smoothie

Smoothies only take a few minutes to make. They are also a fun way to get children interested in fruit and involved in the kitchen.


  • 160g / 5 oz. of fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 62g / 2 oz. of low-fat natural yoghurt
  • 90ml / 3 fl oz. of semi-skimmed milk
  • 4 ice cubes
  • 90ml / 3 fl oz. of unsweetened orange juice


  1. If using frozen strawberries, boil them for 1 minute
  2. If using fresh strawberries, wash them under a running cold tap
  3. Make sure all the ingredients are chilled before use 
  4. Blend fruit, yogurt, milk and juice together using a hand held blender or a smoothie maker until creamy
  5. Add ice cubes and blend again
  6. Pour into two glasses and serve immediately
