A comparative study of thermophilic Campylobacter isolates of clinical and food origin using genotyp

Abstract:

The principal objective of this project was to examine the genotypic profiles of thermophilic Campylobacter isolates recovered from retail food samples in three population centres (Dublin, Galway and Belfast) and compare them with clinical isolates obtained from human patients.

This project was also extended to include an examination of the role of companion animals in the transmission of this infectious agent.
