Research objective
This project is clearly focused on the application and management of allergen information for non-prepacked foods within the catering and hospitality sector on the island of Ireland. The primary aim is two-fold.
(a) To assess whether specific types of catering businesses encounter difficulties in complying with allergen information requirements and to gauge the overall level of compliance with the Food Information to Consumers (FIC) regulation, and
(b) To comprehend how the three relevant agencies on the island of Ireland can assist these businesses in meeting their legal obligations under the FIC. The project encompasses two distinct phases (Phase 1 and 2 as below), both of which will be conducted in both Ireland and Northern Ireland.
